As per news reports, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Universal Scientific Industrial based in Shanghai will be supplying the system-in-package for Apple’s Ultra Wideband (UWB) tracking tags in the second or third quarter of 2020.
What is UWB technology?
UWB technology uses “time of flight” to find out location by measuring the time taken by a radio wave to pass between two objects. This means that your iphone can recognize the surroundings and objects in the open system.
UWB is a short-range, wireless communication protocol that uses radio waves. It is different from bluetooth or wi-fi technology.
What are the advantages of UWB?
- More secure
- Enhanced iOS find and AR apps
- Measurement functions
