Automobile technology is flourishing all around. Now we have reached a time when even flying cars on sky seems so real which looked absolutely impossible even a few years back. Hold your breath and nerves as within the next few days from now onwards, you might be actually notice a car flying up above the sky.
There was a time when engineers looked into the possible ways of transportation underground. This led to the discovery of underground metro-rail, and now people are looking at the sky to find some easy ways to commute from one place to another for a short distance that airplane doesn’t cover. Mostly, streets are full with people and traffic problems, so a flying car is definitely the best bet for short distance during office hours.
According to Tom Enders, CEO of Airbus (EADSY), the company is seriously looking at air transportation vehicles option that can be used or hailed with an app. In fact, Airbus is seriously planning to launch its proposed flying cars in the near future. And mind you, when self driving car is possible then flying cars with passengers will also become a reality sometime too soon.
Flying Cars: Technological Merits and Disadvantages
Airbus gave the name Pop.Up to its car flying platform. Reportedly, it is a passenger compartment that is fixed to its four-wheeled autonomous car. The company has also claimed that by the end of 2020, flying cars will be on full swing carrying passengers from one place to another almost everywhere. The biggest advantage of the car is its ability to run on the ground and fly over the head too.
However, whether the vehicle will get a legal sanction from the ATC (Air traffic Controller) to fly over the sky or not is a question that is still pondering in the mind of the people who are mesmerized by its innovation and technology. Nevertheless, the authority is also seriously contemplating about the future roadmap of flying cars.
The major problem that is looming over the prospect of a flying car is its need to accommodate all the parts and technology that can make it fly and run on the ground. The vehicle will actually move as per the direction given to it by the AI (Artificial Intelligence) integrated into its system.
How to Book a Flying Car
People can book a Pop.Up vehicle using the app available on their smartphones. The app will itself then certify whether a ground or air travel will be the best option for the passenger considering the route, distance, traffic and expenses. It is highly anticipated that such vehicles will work with the batteries having a huge capacity.
“Successfully designing and implementing solutions that will work both in the air and on the ground requires a joint reflection on the part of both aerospace and automotive sectors, alongside collaboration with local government bodies for infrastructure and regulatory frameworks,” an Airbus Official stated.
